Well NOW!!!! Haven't I been saying this all along?!!!

"It would be naive to think that we have a color-blind society. If you don't think we have a race relations problem in Lake Charles, all you have to do is look no further than the division of our city and the distinct lines between north Lake Charles and south Lake Charles," Arceneaux said.

The most important dividing factor among the races today is simple economics, according to local entrepreneur Bryan Beverly.

"We've integrated schools, public facilities, restaurants, even jobs, but we haven't integrated capital. He who has the gold controls," Beverly said.

"Italians support Italians. Asians support Asians. Jews support Jews. African Americans don't support African Americans."

Radio personality Gina Cook echoed that philosophy, saying that division among the black community hinders progress.

"It's not just a black-white problem. It's also a black-on-black problem. We need to clean our own kitchen before we clean someone else's," Cook said.

African Americans don't support African Americans?!!! What?!!! You gotta be kidding me?!!

Life is Art and...
Art is Life.

This syndicated columist's writings bring tears to my eyes!!! He is truly on topic....
Write to Charley Reese at P.O. Box 2446, Orlando, FL 32802

I have a question??? Why is it that society thinks that only males and not females psyches can be broken??? This thinking is especially true in the Black race...Black women are not allowed to feel hurt and pain...

REMEMBER THE IDES OF MARCH....

It was yesterday (the Ides of March) and no I didn't forget--I couldn't forget....March 15 was the beginning of the Roman planting season...It was also the day that Julius Caesar was stabbed in the back by the people that he trusted the most (hence the phrase "You too Brutus?!!)....That is what happened to me yesterday....I was stabbed in my soul by the people (family members!!! blood relatives!!) that should care about me the most and should have my BACK!!! In the words of Beyonce "It's just me, myself, and I. That's all I've got in the end. That's what I found out. And there ain't no need to cry 'cause from now own I'm going to be my own best friend...." Actually it was a liberation at the same time it hurt me to my soul (I was called a total fuck up by one of my parents)....I can finally live life on my own terms and not have to feel that I always have to please mommy and daddy who NEVER seem to be satisfied anyway....

On a more pleasant note I read this e-mail today and it made me feel much better and much more appreciated....

Universal Themes

Pain. Sorrow. Love. Sex. Death. These are universal themes that transcend the boundaries of all cultures.

Speaking of Sorrow--the fact that Walmart changed eight of their checkout counters to automatic checkout counters is really causing me a lot of grief....First hiring illegal aliens and now taking gainful employment away from the common man....Pitiful!!! In the words of Marvin Gaye "It makes me wanna holler. The way they do my life."

Alcohol, Negroes and independent thinking.....

Can make for a volatile situation....Ya'll know Black folk can be pretty much "tribal minded" even when sober....
